Q: What are the requirements to become a Rituals Coffee House franchisee?
A: Access to capital (cash, cash equivalents or borrowing power) of
not less than US$200,000 is desired with a net worth of greater than US$1.5 million.
The
ideal candidate has at least five years of successful business management experience
and the ability to lead and manage people particularly in a successful multi-unit
restaurant or retail operation. The ability to understand and interpret financial
statements (or the assistance of persons who do) is highly recommended.
Q: What if I don't have the required operations experience?
A: We require you to find an operating equity partner with successful
multi-unit restaurant or retail experience before we complete a formal application.
Q: What type of franchise is available?
A: Rituals Coffee House offers AREA DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENTS for the
development and operation of multiple stores within a designated territory.
Q: How much does it cost to open a Rituals Coffee House Franchise?
A: The start-up cost for a Rituals Coffee House franchise starts at
as little as US$100,000. This is an estimate and actual budgets and expenses may vary.
Q: How much is the initial franchise fee?
A: It is currently US$25,000 for the first Rituals Coffee House, US$5,000
for the second and each successive coffee house. These amounts are subject to change
in the future.
Q: Will Rituals Coffee House assist me with financing a store?
A: Rituals Coffee House does not offer in-house financing. You must
have the financial capacity to develop a free-standing restaurant.
Q: What are the royalty fees?
A: The current royalty fee is 5% of gross receipts, due monthly.
Q: How much is the fee for continuing support services?
A: The cost for support services is included within the royalty fee.
Franchisees are provided guidance and advice in operating the Rituals Coffee House
franchise system, as well as kept up to date on new policies, procedures and product
developments.
Q: What are the advertising/marketing fees?
A: There is currently no fixed advertising/marketing fee. Materials
will be charged as shipped.
Q: What about training?
A: Rituals Coffee House will provide initial training for up to five
individuals. The training consists of: Classroom sessions and existing in-store
training. The classroom training is conducted at our corporate training center,
and on-the-job training will take place at our company-owned locations. Additional
on-site training in your store as you open is also provided. In addition to the
training plan, each franchise will receive a complete library of training and procedural
manuals. All updates, improvements, and corrections are provided on a continual
basis.
Q: Does Rituals Coffee House provide suppliers for my business?
A: Approved suppliers, offering each franchisee the buying power that
saves money and ensures quality and uniformity, are provided with our system. Rituals
Coffee House assists franchisees by handling the negotiation of most vendor contracts
for the benefit of the entire system.
Q: What about advertising?
A: We will coordinate the development of advertising materials
and strategies for all the members of our franchise family, including professional
materials for your use. You will be provided with customized grand opening plans
and ongoing strategies. You will promote your store under the
established Rituals
Coffee House brand and logo.
Q: What’s my next step?

We will provide store and other facilities tours and enter into discussions of your
interest and our system.
Q: How much floor area is required?
A: Typically, a stand-alone layout requires 1,200 sq. ft. with parking.
